After a decade of selling her textile crafts through local shops and craft fairs, Nedra created ‘The Peacock Lotus’ in order to reach a wider audience. A new website was requested, with the requirements for it to look and feel personal, elegant, and clean. It also needed to be easy for customers to navigate around in order to find whatever information they needed quickly. One of the main focus of the website was to be an online shop with clear and quick payment options. Nedra also asked for a total overhaul of her existing brand identity, replacing her old logo, colours, and fonts with a more modern, fresher, look. The only stipulation being that the new branding fully represents the new company name.
For the logo, ‘peacock’ colour tones of purple and teal were used to create a lotus flower in a peacock ‘feather-esque’ design. A stylised ‘handwritten’ font adds a touch of elegance and works well with the feel of personal (bespoke) craft. Once the brand identity was established this was carried through into the website design. The website itself was designed with enough open light spaces to allow Nedra’s craft products to be the focal point on every page. Nedra also requested some print-ready artwork; product care-labels, packaging stickers, and gift vouchers.
